The Technical Committee

A Technical Committee of independent international industry and academic experts meet quarterly to review the Planet Positive Protocol and ensure it exceeds industry best practice standards. Members include:

  • CHAIR: JANET KIDNER: Non Executive – Janet is a founder partner of dcarbon8 and now acts in a Non Executive role. She has a distinction in Environmental Technology from Imperial College (MSc) and is dedicated in sustainable change management.
  • PAUL ASHFORD: CALEB - A chemist by training, Paul specialises in issues-based management and in policy development to curb the use ozone depleting substances (CFCs, HCFCs, Halons and others).
  • JACOB MADSEN: Environmental Resources Management (ERM) - Jacob is a senior consultant at ERM. He is a leading specialist in carbon measurement and is developing a waste tool for end of life on behalf of the Environment Agency.
  • KATIE BEGG: UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH (Centre for Environmental Change and Sustainability) – Katie has extensive experience of carbon project mechanisms and sustainability benefit delivery under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

The committee reviews suggestions from all Planet Positive stakeholders, and may also commission specific technical advice before recommending any changes to the protocol. All meetings are minuted and published openly.

We are recruiting a number of high profile individuals as Planet Positive Ambassadors whose role it will be to promote the mark through word of mouth and through their own personal actions.
